Stop Tool Sprawl and Tool Overload in the Cloud
To access traffic traversing the public cloud, enterprises are leveraging agents to copy network traffic. The Gigamon G-vTAP agent is a lightweight agent that is deployed on both Linux and Windows workloads in the public cloud that sends mirrored traffic to the GigaVUE V Series.
Once mirrored traffic is received, the V Series leverages the following applications for traffic optimization:
- Flow Mapping®: Select traffic of interest by using overlapping rules and nested conditions
- NetFlow and IPFIX Generation: Generate flow records from network traffic to determine IP source, traffic destination, class of service, causes of congestion
- Slicing, Sampling, Masking: Optimize and send only relevant traffic to tools.
By sending the right traffic to the right tools, organizations can stop tool sprawl and overload, ensuring an effective security posture.
As organizations build out their public cloud infrastructure, they are forced to manually configure each compute instance for effective security and monitoring.The GigaVUE V Series leverages Automatic Target Selection, a patented Gigamon technology that automatically selects and delivers traffic that matches configured policies when new cloud instances spin up, saving time and resources.
The GigaVUE V Series also automatically scales based on the varying number of compute instances without lowering the performance of the visibility nodes, which is key in ever-changing cloud environments.
