Test NAT Routers

Test. Improve. Repeat.

Xena Networks light logo

NAT routers are used to translate private (not globally unique) addresses on an internal network into public or legal addresses before packets are forwarded to another network.

A key feature is that NAT can be configured to only advertise one address for the entire network to the outside world. This provides additional security by effectively hiding the entire internal network behind that address.

NAT therefore serves the dual functions of security and minimizing the number of IP addresses used and is typically implemented in remote-access environments.

Vulcan is ideal for testing the performance and functionality of NAT routers.

Xena White Papers

… for this industry

Timy Synchronization white paper cover

Latency & Jitter

This White Paper clarifies terms used in time measurement e.g. latency, jitter, inter-frame gap, latency resolution, speed mismatch, latency over time, and distribution and presents how Xena interprets and implements time measurements.

TCP Testing white paper cover

TCP Testing

TCP turns the ‘best effort’ nature of IP networks into reliable communication services. This White Paper explains how RFC 6349 based TCP throughput tests and stress load tests give network operators valuable information on network TCP performance.

The Case for 25GE & 50GE

Data centers are hungry for bandwidth but strapped for cash. Adding more 10GE equipment is a short-term solution but upgrading to 40/100GE is expensive.
