The compact GigaVUE-HC1 appliance has a base chassis with twelve SFP/SFP+ cages supporting 1Gb and 10Gb modules plus four fixed RJ-45 ports for 10/100/1000Mb. Expandability is provided by two module bays. The copper TAP/bypass module has eight RJ-45 ports to monitor four 10/100/1000Mb links. The modules have fail-to-wire protection and support both out-of-band tapping and inline bypass protection.

Optional GigaSMART^® modules provide traffic intelligence and visibility to remote sites with features such as Application Filtering, De-duplication, Header Stripping and Slicing. GigaVUE-HC1 supports clustering with other visibility nodes to increase scale and reach. Fabric Maps enable Flow Mapping^®across clusters to scale network visibility across hundreds of nodes. Network visibility into cloud and remote sites are enabled with tunnel decapsulation (L2GRE and VXLAN) included in all HC Series. GigaVUE-FM provides a single pane-of-glass view through which users can manage and orchestrate the entire Gigamon Platform.
